St Mary’s Church is situated at the end of Church Lane, off Bury New Road, in Prestwich. Our postcode is M25 1AN.
St. Mary’s is an open and inclusive community where worship and preaching are taken seriously and where all are welcomed. St Mary’s is a member of the Inclusive Church network. We have a strong Junior Church and we have a real spread of ages in all our congregations with a significant number of children, and adults in their 30s and 40s. On a typical Sunday, around 30 people attend our 8.00am Eucharist and more than 100 at the 10.30am service. We are delighted to welcome visitors and those attending for the first time.
More information can be found in our Welcome Pack.
Our church building is Grade One listed and is a fine medieval parish church with some sympathetic Georgian and Victorian additions. The church is fully accessible with a disabled toilet inside the church building. We have one of the largest graveyards in the country.
Junior Church meets every Sunday at 10.30am in term time. For those who wish to use it, there is a dedicated space in the tower room for those too young for Junior Church. This includes a speaker system so parents and carers can still hear the service.
Refreshments are served after the 10.30am Sunday Eucharist and if you are visiting you are very welcome to join us. Please introduce yourself.
St Mary’s Church does not have a car park and there is very limited parking on Church Lane. On street parking can be found on Church Drive which is a couple of minutes walk from St Mary’s. Alternatively there is a large public car park at the Longfield Centre, opposite Prestwich tram stop and another smaller car park off Clifton Road behind the Nat West bank on Bury New Road. Both of these car parks are approximately a five minute walk from St Mary’s Church. On Sunday mornings (only), members of the congregation may use the car park at the Conservative Club on Church Lane.
